Choosing units for a backyard event
East Hills runs to large wooded parcels and long driveways, which is exactly the setting a restroom trailer was built for. For a backyard wedding or a milestone party on the lawn we point clients to the climate-controlled trailer, since it gives guests a real sink-and-mirror restroom a few steps from the tent.
Smaller gatherings and open houses do fine with a flushing unit paired with a freestanding handwashing station, and an ADA unit is easy to add when the guest list includes anyone who needs a step-free stall.
Where a unit sits on these lots
With driveways and side yards to spare, placement here is the opposite of a city curbside job. We tuck the unit on a level patch of the drive or at the tree line where it's out of the sightlines from the tent but still an easy walk, and we lay boards under it if the lawn is soft.
For the custom home builds going up on the wooded streets off Glen Cove Road, the unit lives on the site by the material staging area and gets serviced on our regular North Shore rounds.
Winter work up here
The building season doesn't stop for the cold, so we keep units on the estate construction sites running through the North Shore winters. We time servicing for the plow-cleared part of the day, add extra deodorizer against the freeze, and keep the lid and door working when the temperature drops and a Nor'easter comes through off the Sound. Because so many of these Roslyn-area properties host repeat celebrations, we log where the trailer sat last time so the next booking goes even faster.
